Lara Stone Went to Rehab for Alcoholism Earlier This Year

Source

Lara Stone was photographed by Mario Testino for the December 2009 cover of Vogue UK — all in a day’s work for the frequent cover girl — but it’s inside the magazine that she really gets down to business, revealing for the first time publicly that she spent four weeks earlier this year in rehab.

“I am a complete alcoholic. It used to be so easy to say to someone, ‘Get me a bottle of vodka,’ and they’d run and get it. Going to rehab was the best decision I ever made. The last six months have been the best of my life.”

A week after she left rehab, she was back in the game, attending the Costume Institute Gala in early May with Alexander Wang.

Lara Stone is the queen of rebellious and brazen sexuality. We’ve come to expect a certain devil may care attitude from Ms. Stone – how many Lara editorials feature the Dutch beauty wearing Balmain and smoking a cigarette? Perhaps that is why her sugary sweet cover for British Vogue seems so very fresh. Soft pastels, a frou frou dress and Lara looking almost (dare we say it) innocent. Leave it to Mario Testino to show another side of one of our favorite girls.

Missing from the New York Runways: Where is Lara Stone?

Source

Official day three of New York Fashion Week is over, and still no sign on the runway of usual heavyweights Raquel Zimmermann, Anja Rubik, and Lara Stone — even at shows where they’re most likely to be in, like Rag & Bone or Alexander Wang. It seems that Raquel may not be walking in New York — her agency DNA didn’t publish a showcard for her, but she’s definitely in town — she was all over the place Sept. 10 for Fashion’s Night Out.

Lara and Anja, meanwhile, both attended Fashion’s Night Out at Burberry in London, not New York.  They do, however, each have a showcard for New York, so maybe they’re being saved for later on in the week?  If they’re coming back stateside, that is . . .

NOT JUST A LABEL IS NOW PROUD TO INTRODUCE LARA STONE, THE ICONIC DUTCH SUPERMODEL, WHO BELIEVES THAT “INDIVIDUALITY IS A NECESSITY”, AS THE HOST OF ITS CURATED ONLINE STORE DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER.

Meeting Lara Stone can feel like standing face to face with the epitome of sexiness and attitude; a human symbol of a tiny revolution inside an industry where the prerequisites seem hard to challenge. The girl who now ranks as number three out of the world’s top 50 on Models.com, possesses an unusually captivating charm, and a figure and feline face that has earned her comparisons to Brigitte Bardot. She is the girl of the year; we just cannot get enough of her. And in the midst of all this Lara-craze, the 25-year-old Dutch casually dismisses the hysteria and body-focus and just keeps doing what she is good at. It is exactly this strong and individual edge that has got the world so fascinated.

Lara Stone: At last! A role model for real women

Source

The fashion world can’t get enough of Lara Stone, thanks to her Bardot-esque look. Indeed, the buzz around the model’s sexy curves suggests that there’s finally a backlash against the size zero silhouette. Liz Hoggard hopes so

It’s easy to be mesmerised by Lara Stone, the new face of Jaeger. Hailed by British and US Vogue and W magazine as the model du jour, Lara is a breath of fresh air. With her gappy teeth, bee-stung lips and frankly va-va voom figure, Dutch-born Lara is a world away from the boyish, prepubescent skinnies who have dominated our catwalks for the past few years.

At July’s Couture Fashion Week in Paris, she closed the Chanel show and opened Jean Paul Gaultier. Lara is a chameleon: she can play urchin and she can play duchess. According to photographer Bruce Weber, ‘she’s big, bad and beautiful’.
Certainly there is nothing fey or girlish about ‘the girl with the X-rated lips’: 5ft 10in and sexy on her own terms, she stomps along the catwalk with a permanent scowl. You’re not sure if she would kiss or slap you. But designers and photographers are so taken with her body that she appears naked in magazines as often as clothed.

Lara Stone: taking centre stage as THE SHOP’s curator

Source

Lara Stone, the iconic Dutch supermodel, who believes that “individuality is a necessity”, will be taking centre stage as THE SHOP’s curator from Wednesday 2 September

NOT JUST A LABEL | THE SHOP is now proud to introduce Lara Stone as the host of its curated online store during the month of September. Starting in the fashion industry at fifteen to now opening prestigious designer shows, Lara’s sartorial saturated life will ensure that her choices represent what she is most celebrated for; fierceness of personality and strong individualism.

Recently named by W Magazine as “the most wanted face of the moment”; Lara Stone has graced dozens of catwalks from Louis Vuitton to Prada to Marc Jacobs while her ad campaigns are endless, ranging from Calvin Klein to Max Mara.

Her beauty has exploded on a multitude of magazine covers, including Vogue, Elle, V Magazine and i-D.

Most famed for her voluptuous figure, large lips and gapped front teeth, her distinct appearance marks a refreshing anomaly and striking originality in the stiflingly conformist model sphere.

The September Issue of NOT JUST A LABEL.com’s revolutionary shopping experience will be bigger than ever. NJAL’s THE SHOP will continue asserting its avant-garde mark on the fashion world, but with a bigger Autumn/Winter collection and an even better curator.

For the first time designers will be able to offer their pieces directly from their studios around the world, giving them the possibility to sell directly to shoppers on five continents. Hundreds of designer look-books on NJAL will turn into individual online shops in the months to come, providing fashion aficionados with the possibility to access the latest trends.

Lara will bring all this to her role, curating this month’s THE SHOP, at NOT JUST A LABEL. Her selection, available from Wednesday 2 September, will once again allow emerging designers to offer their one-off catwalk and exceptionally designed pieces to shoppers in search of a sense of dress that defies the predictability of mainstream fashion.

La Lara

Source

We are in the middle of a Lara Stone moment -  the covers keep coming, the campaigns don’t stop and everywhere you go you see a hint of Ms. Stone’s influence. Whether its in the bleached brows trend or in the recent influx of gap-toothed, blonde models – Lara is the girl to beat. Just when you think you’ve seen all there is to see when it comes to Ms. Stone she goes ahead and surprises us with a Vogue Paris makeover. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott with dark hair, an innocent glance and :gasp: full eyebrows, Lara is almost completely unrecognizable.
